If you think you’re too small to have an impact, try going to bed with a mosquito in the room.- Anita Koddick
A tiny little word spoken softly at the right time has changed my life. A simple look from someone has had me thinking for days. A single flower on my dad’s casket spoke to my heart of his life. And one heart-felt hug makes everything better. Don’t despise the littles of your life, my friend. No matter how big and strong the oak tree, it starts with a tiny acorn.
All things in life, great or nasty, start with baby seeds.
I’m going to plant lots of good seeds today by the grace of God.

My youngest son was on Fall Break from college last week, and it was good to have him at home again. The piano gave its very loud music all week long again, and the milk got all finished.
We sat together and talked for a long, long time on Saturday night, and I see him mature in many ways. He is not the boy who left for college two and a half years ago. He is now a man with his own ideas, purposes and walk with God.
His birthday is coming up next week and we celebrated it together since he was home. Twenty-one years old… old enough to drink, to vote, to father a child… My baby has grown up, and I am so proud of him. In many ways he brings comfort to my heart. In many ways he challenges me as well. He is good for me.

“Consider the postage stamp: its usefulness consists in the ability to stick to one thing until it gets there.” Josh Billings
I like that a lot. As long as we don’t quit in life, we haven’t lost a thing. The potential for winning is there every single morning, as long as you don’t give up. And if something can be more true than true, this is more true for those of us who have bent the knee to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. He already has gained the victory for us. All we have to do is follow after him in the triumph car.
To not quit until we get there is an endurance thing. Holy Spirit can only teach us endurance as we endure. No fun in a way, but marvelous in another. Things become quite special when you endure for them. People become more precious than gold when you endure on their behalf. Goals reached are exhilirating when we had to endure for them.
Can I endure until I get there? If I see my Father do it with me and through me, I surely can!
I ran 22 miles this morning. My body is exhausted right now, but delighted to have done it. Endurance will have its perfect result in me. Thank You my Lord.

A close friend of my three children was in a terrible car accident last Saturday. By Tuesday, the doctors were telling his parents that they had never seen someone whose brain was as damaged and as “dead” as Ian’s come back. They signed the organ donor papers and planned the funeral.
But the entire community continued to pray. As long as there is breath in that body, God isn’t done! God is the God of the impossible, and to Him belongs all power. He determines when life is over.
Wednesday morning, Ian reacted to a loud noise in the room. They took him back for more tests. Ian is no longer a candidate for organ donation!!!! Glory to God.
It’s been an emotional time, but God rules. We rejoice with the family and stand in prayer on their behalf. May Ian recover to the glory of God!

My friends Paula and Danni helped me shop for a mother-of-the-groom gown/dress. It has to look sharp, but not bridesmaidy; has to kind of match the wedding party’s attire, but not too much… With my European background, I was somewhat nervous about picking a gown that would work. Paula and Danni took their job very seriously and went to work for me in each shop we visited.
It didn’t take long until they came up with the perfect gown: chocolate brown, full length, elegant and classy. Dignified and yet cool. I’m going to wear it proudly.
Thank God for girlfriends!
