Fruits as a result of intimacy

“The ability to hear what God is saying,to see what God is doing, and to move in the realm of the miraculous comes as an individual develops the same intimacy with and dependence upon the Father. How did Jesus do what He did? The answer is found in His relationship with the Father. How will we do the greater works than these which Jesus promised? By discovering the same relationship of intimacy, simplicity and obedience.” John Wimber
At its simplest, life is about our relationship with God, isn’t it? We cannot “perform” and produce the kinds of fruit that please Him apart from being linked to Him. The bearing of fruit in the life of a man or woman who walks with God is as natural as the bearing of apples for the apple tree. All the tree does is steadily expand its roots, and receive life from the ground in which it is planted, from the water that pours upon it, from the sun that so generously covers it–and the fruit comes. Our fruit will be birthed as we draw from the ground of the Word, the water of the Spirit, and the Son who so generously gives to us.
