The Power of Words

Amazing, the power of words. They convey hope or desperation, a reason to press through or an excuse of giving up. How are my words affecting the people around me? Do I use my tongue for building up, or tearing down? Do I even believe in the power in my tongue?
The greatest deception is that false humility that declares that what I say doesn’t matter because of my lack of importance; who am I, after all? But all along, I kill those around me slowly with simple everyday words of death.
Not one of us can duck the responsibility of his or her own words. We may not own up to them, but they still remain arrows shot into people’s lives, futures, hearts. They will surely hit their target.
