Pouring Cement

Yesterday was a lovely, chilly fall day. It was cement-pouring day. We are working on installing a hot tub in the backyard, and the first few steps are just messy. We got our 10X10 square dug out and root-free. Then we covered it with gravel–brought from the front one wheel-barrel at a time!–put boards around the perimeter and were ready to make cement. One 80 pounds bag at a time. It was like playing with mud, really heavy mud. Exhausting, but fun.
···Quite a thrilling feeling to look at the finished project at the end of the day. But no hot tub for sore muscles yet. It’s on its way. Can’t wait!
