Overwhelmed

If ever God overwhelmed me with His care and kindness, it would be right now…
As I prepare to run my marathon with my son Daniel this Sunday, I find myself ready, excited, full of anticipation and nervous. But then, God comes into the picture and completely overwhelms me with kindnesses left and right, making sure I know deep within my gut that He is for me in this. And if God is for me, who could be against me?
It started on Wednesday when the place I work at got flooded and I had to stay home. I got to rest, sleep in, and fill myself with the Word. By the same evening, I started to get emails from Daniel’s friends, most of whom I do not know, and they all were wishing me “good luck,” giving me the Word of the Lord and assuring me of their prayers. By now, there are 45 emails sitting in my inbox… On Thursday, I wasn’t supposed to be too physically active, but I had to teach two aerobics classes, whether I wanted to or not. For the first time ever, nobody showed up… and I got to rest! Then, flowers were delivered for me at home today, and a friend stopped by with a gift certificate for a day at the spa after the marathon, complement of 11 of my closest sisters in Christ. Then, there were phone calls, and cards…
I am filled with the awareness of His love and care. I am ready.
Following is an compilation of the nuggets in the many emails I received. I am going to print this, fold it and put it in my pocket on marathon day, carrying the Word with me.
Run for His glory!
I know God will give you perseverance and the strength to run this race to His glory.
Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me. Psalm 54:4
Go for it and remember that (your) help comes from the Lord, MAKER OF HEAVEN AND EARTH.GO GET EM!

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. -Isaiah 40:28-31
The Lord will will will help you because He so intently cares for you.

I learned so much because it was hard. The only thing that helped me was praying for other people or praising the Lord.
Remember that “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.” I’m sure you have given this to the Lord so you can have a great time going out there and having a blast knowing that you have been given PROVISION! Have a blast!!!!!!
Hope the race goes well and that you enjoy the pain and pleasure of what God has equipped our bodies to do!
“Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in Him and He will do it.” Psalm 37:5
Trust that God will be right there running next to you ready to pick you up and give you strength when you need it most.
If you ever get a little weary or are going through tough times in the race, remember these verses: “The Lord makes firm the steps of those who delight in Him; though they stumble, they will not fall, for the Lord upholds them with his hand.”Psalm 37: 23-24
I think this verse is so neat so I wanted to share it with you: By faith he left Egypt, not being afraid of the anger of the king, for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible. (Hebrews 11:27) I realize that neither of us are Moses, the person whom this verse is referring to.However we can endure as seeing Him who is invisible. Such a cool thought. In marathons, in classes, in work… So, may you run as seeing Him who is invisible this Sunday!
You’ve got an incredible son running by your side who has complete confidence in you and the Lord above who will protect and watch over you. Have fun, don’t doubt yourself, and trust in the Lord. It’ll be great!
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
I do know it takes perseverance. Being Dan Croce’s mom, there’s no doubt that you have your fair share of that 🙂
“And Jesus said unto them … , “If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to younder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible to you.” ~Romans 1:17~
I know a woman who can raise a young man like Dan can do anything she puts her mind to.
It’s going to be such a sweet experience! Sure it’s a long way, but we can do anything with the strength of our Savior if we do it in His name!
God will help you with anything you put your hands to!

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus…so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Hebrews 12:1-3
Get out there and run the race for the Lord and He will give you strength!! God bless!! “I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. I can do everything with the help of Christ who gives me the strength I need.” Philippians 4:12-13
His Strength–His Power–His Glory
For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
You will be able to run the whole race, and do it with a smile on your face. Stay strong and have fun!
“Consider now, for the LORD has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary; be courageous and act.” 1Chron.28:10 I pray that courage as you act will so strengthen your mind, your body & your heart. Let your heart be strong & be strengthened as you give thanks to your LORD JESUS.
Just put all the struggling in God’s hands. What an opportunity this is for you to have some solid prayer time. God be with you.
I promise that the feeling at the end is totally worth enduring the race! I just repeated in my head, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me throughout the race.” He will give you the strength. It’s amazing what our bodies can do! Much more than we think. Good luck!!!!! Enjoy the fans and the time with Daniel. It’ll be a lot of fun!
Now therefore, I pray You, if I have found favor in Your sight, let me know Your ways that I may know You, so that I may find favor in Your sight. And He said, My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest. Then he said to Him, If Your presence does not go with us, do not lead us from here. For how then can it be known that I have found favor in Your sight, I and Your people? Is it not by Your going with us, so that we, I and Your people, may be distinguished form all the other people who are upon the face of the earth? The Lord said to Moses, I will also do this thing of which you have spoken; for you have found favor in My sight and I have known you by name. Exodus 33:13-17
I have no doubt that the Lord will be faithful and help you finish the race. If He can create the world, wipe out nations, and die to save us, then giving you strength for the race is going to be no problem. So go get em Mrs. Croce!
You’ll do even better than you’ve ever expected.
