“So teach us to number our days, that we may present to You a heart of wisdom.” Psalm 90:12
Here are the different definitions of “to number”: to mark with or distinguish by numbers, to comprise in number, to consider or include in a number, to count over one by one, to mention individually or one by one, to enumerate.
God says He numbers our hair, that means he counts them one by one… wow… and the psalmist saw the need to number his days that he might be more useful to the Lord, more glorifying to Him. So I set out to number my days. I had to figure out leap years, which was not obvious to me. But I did come up with a total. Including today, I am up to 17,418. That’s a lot of days!
Howmany more are there for me? I want to enjoy each one of them. Somehow counting them makes time so much more real–and precious to me.
My friend Jackie gave me the coolest website that does the calculations for you. So if you want to number your days, go to http://www.timeanddate. com , and enter your birth date and today’s date.
