When I physically grew, I was lifted up above what used to be at eye level. So the cat that seemed huge and scary is just a cat, and its ability to impress me has greatly diminished–it has lost its power over me.
When I grow in every other way, the same phenomenon happens. My perspective changes, I have a new awareness of things. I realistically change how I think, because my sight isn’t scewed any longer.
Growth makes what parents say realistic. I understand now that it is wise to obey the law, and that my actions have consequences. I get that I have to work to make a living, and that I can’t live on ice cream.
Growth makes what God says realistic. As I grow up in Him, I realign myself so I can look at things the way He does, and then it all makes sense.
Thank God for growth!
