Someone bad-mouthed me to my husband a few days ago, unaware that she was speaking to the man who married me 27 years ago. He let her speak for a few minutes, then said, “Do you know it is my wife you are talking about?” She was a bit flustered of course, and apologized some. He told me about the conversation over dinner. I wasn’t very upset about her speaking against me, that’s just part of life. But I was most thrilled about my husband’s standing up for me. I find it so wonderful to know that he would do that. “Well, of course,” he said. “If someone attacks you, they attack me, you know. We are one.” What a blessed woman I am!
