The hummingbirds have found the feeder, and they lavishlingly feed on the nectar we provided!
I love my birds. At first, I thought the blue jays were the best–so beautiful, and strong, I wished I had a million of them. But then, as I watched, I noticed that these gorgeous birds weren’t very nice at all. They rule the birdfeeder, and all other birds are afraid of them, conceding their spot at the feeder as soon as the blue jay arrives. When he/she leaves, the other birds resume their activities joyfully. I don’t like blue jays that much any longer.
Now isn’t that interesting? Beauty attracted me to them, but it wasn’t enough to keep my interest in them. Their beauty faded in the face of their character. I’ll take any other bird over these…
Beauty that is just skin deep simply won’t cut it. And it won’t do in life either!
