My wonderful church family had a party in the honor of my new U.S. citizenship; it was most wonderful! They all wore red, white and blue, from neckties to sweaters to socks (!) and patriotic music was blaring as I entered the house. Even my kids came home from where they all live now.
My friends cooked up a storm, all good old american favorites, and we had a grand old time together, celebrating the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. It made me proud to be an American. Proud to belong in a country where we are free to celebrate and worship God.
It also made me appreciate how loved I am. We all need to be reminded at times. And this was the best kind of reminder!
