New Year’s is such a cool time of the year, a time to reflect on the past and dare to dream about the future to come. A time to let go and embrace. A time to give yourself permission to move on. The preacher in Ecclesiastes is wise when he says, “there is a time for everything under the sun.” Let this new season happen in your life, friend. We cannot enter this new year weighed down by the burdens of 2008; the only things we should take with us is what God has built throughout the year. We are free to let go!
The Lord spoke to me on Christmas morning, and He said that He has the first word, and the last. What a powerful Word that was to me, and how timely as I enter a new year. He surely has the first word in all things, and He certainly has the last one. He Himself is the Word, period! He is the Alpha and the Omega. This is true in the whole of eternity, but this is true as well in my little life and as we leave 2008 behind and embrace 2009. He still and forever will have the first and the last word. What comforting and hope-producing words these are to me… Let these thoughts sink deep into you, that they might produce the sweet fruit of revelation within the innermost parts of your being.
He has the first Word, and He has the last word.
You are free to let go and embrace!
He is offering a new beginning.
Step gladly into a new year full of promises, my friend. Welcome it with the faith that believes that God is good. Indeed He is!
