Wednesday’s W: WHAT are you thankful for?

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving.

Turkey and pumpkin pie.  And maybe some yummy mashed potatoes…. and cranberry relish… and…

When my kids were little, we talked about the reason we celebrate Thanksgiving, and we made lists of things we were thankful for in our very own lives.  That was a very, very good thing, because the list reminded us of what we do have.

So often, we look at what we don’t have… and get upset.  But on this Thanksgiving, let’s remember what we do have, and give thanks indeed.

I’ll start:

Today, I am thankful for a warm house, a family who loves me and the right to worship my God.

Your turn!

  1. I like the right to worship my own God as the best reason for giving thanks — not the only reason, mind you, but the best 🙂

      • I love this too.

I give thanks to you, dear Father, for choosing me to be a part of your eternal family. I give thanks to you, precious Jesus, for rescuing me out of the kingdom of darkness through your death and resurrection. And I give thanks to you, Holy Spirit, for applying to me and all the church, every benefit of salvation.
