The Thank You Life-Changing Experiment

It all started with Ann Voskamp’s book, One Thousand Gifts, a “dare-to-live-right- where-you-are” book. Ann writes like nobody’s business, and she has a way of drawing you into the nitty gritty of life right where it count, making you realize that we are gifted through and through.

It is good for me, this opening of my eyes to the reality of gifts all around. It is as an awakening. I took the gentle admonition seriously, starting my own list of gifts, both on my blog and in the secret places of my heart. I see them everywhere now, these life-giving, spirit-lifting gifts. I find them everywhere, even in snakes… And the realization of them changes me. The giving of thanks for them turns me into someone else.

Thanks, Misty, for letting me guest post on your great blog!!

  1. Nice to read you on a guest blog!! Thankfulness is indeed a great way to stay full. Makes me think of the song we sing….Open my eyes, Lord, I want to see Jesus!
He leaves us all love notes in our daily lives. It is not enough to meet Him only at church. So glad He makes His abode with us.

  2. “The giving of thanks for them turns me into someone else.”

Beautiful, Barbara. That’s what I get from Ann’s writings too. I’m thankful for the grace-counting that she prompted me to do.

Counting you as one of my graces today…

I would love to hear your reaction to this post.
