The Alphabet of Life–V is for VIOLENT

In the Alphabet of Life, V is for VIOLENT, because even though God’s love is sweet, tender, kind, patient and does not return evil, God’s love is powerfully violent.

Like a meteor that comes crashing into our lives, pulverizing everything, recreating everything. Beautifully.

Like a meteor that is able to crush all that is ugly about us, melt it, and re-create it breathtakingly gorgeous.

Meteorically violent.

And it is really because of the strength of its violence that God’s love can be so sweet, and tender, and kind, and patient.

God’s love comes full circle.

And it is really because of its meteoric proportions of violence that God’s love does not return evil for evil, but can extend mercy and goodness.

God’s love comes full circle.

Meteorically violent. Creation-power violent.  Never-ending violent.  Sweet, tender violent. Relentless violent.

In the Alphabet of Life, V is for VIOLENT.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16

That’s violence at its peak.
