February 2014 Letter–Dear Heaven

February 2014 Letter–Dear Heaven,

One day, we will meet, you and I. And even with my wild imagination, I can’t quite picture what you are like. Streets of gold, no sun needed because the King is the Sun, no more pain, joy like I have never experienced before… I have no frame of reference for you, dear Heaven, yet I already yearn for you.

You are where the Tailor of my soul resides, the One Who patiently weaves His ways in me, day in and day out, until I look just like Him, just like He planned from the beginning.

You are where the Lover of my soul dwells, the One Who turned His face away from THE Son that I might be with Him, that I might know His love, that I might be transformed by it.

You are the place where I will rest eternally, beholding the face of the One I love most of all, the One Whose radiance is brighter than all the stars combined, Whose beauty is more than words could ever express, Whose Presence causes silence in the entire universe.

You are where He made a home for me, this One Who loves me so. And He is saying that I am welcome there. That He is waiting for me.

You are the only place of true ecstasy. And when the time is right and He calls my name, I will be running towards you. You turn life down here into the joy of anticipation…

Dear Heaven, thank you for all that you are to me,

  1. Visiting from A Mama’s Story. It’s funny that you used that subtitle because my pastor just finished a months-long sermon series called ”Living Out Loud,” and he’s working on a book based on the series.

  2. Such beautiful words, Barbara. A great reminder that this world is not our home and the yearnings we feel for better here will not be fulfilled until we are There. Thanks for linking up for Testimony Tuesday!

  3. We are just passing through this old world and heaven awaits us. Jesus has gone before and is preparing a place for us there. One glad day, God the Father will give the que for that angel horn to blow and the graves will open first, then we too shall be caught up to be with the Lord. Thanks for sharing your beautiful post of Heaven with us here at “Tell Me a Story.”

I would love to hear your reaction to this post.
