May 2014 Letter–Dear Spring

May 2014 Letter– Dear Spring,

You have flirted with me ever since I was a little girl, making my heart flutter year after year. It’s a love affair kind of thing.

It’s in the way you display light without shame, the way you are so generous with the freshness of the air all around. It’s in your lavish offer of colorful flowers, and how you wink to change them a bit every hour, and how you just create new ones overnight. It’s in the way you tantalize me, inviting me to dance to the new songs of birds, and the flutter of life all around. It’s in your tender touch on my skin, the warmth of your sunny embrace, and how you make me want to breathe deep and live life to the fullest.

Every time you court me this way, I melt into your arms. And I feel so alive when I let you entice me into living in the moment. You playfully challenge me to savor the luscious strawberries you gift me, the fragrant flowering trees loaded with promises, the longer evenings with sunsets achingly  beautiful. And you gently remind me that tomorrow is not mine. So you take me by the hand and we dance in the sunset. Slow and easy. Filled with awe.

I welcome your love with such delight, drinking it in with all there is of me. You make me want to smile from morning to night. And then from night to morning.

Thank you for all that you are to me.
