Your Hands

Your hands, they are amazing.

They are the hands that tenderly hold my heart when it is breaking, and the hands that unashamedly touched the leper who was shunned by all. Your hands, they are the hands that tickled the little ones who came running to You, and they are the hands that masterfully shape the clays of my life.

Your hands, they are amazing.

They held Your momma’s hand when she taught You how to walk, and they hold my hand when the ground is all shaky and icy and terrifying for my feet.

And Your hands, they are strong enough to do carpentry and build things, yet plenty soft enough to wrap me in endless grace.

They fed the thousands. They pointed to the one who hid in the tree. They lead the disciples. They smashed the tables in the temple. But Your hands, they are never clenched when You look at me.

Your hands, they are always open to me.

They offered the bread and they shared the wine. They offer me the very essence of You.

bread and wine

And Your hands, they let themselves be nailed to the tree. For me.

And Your hands, they are awaiting my arrival to Your place. Because You have a hug waiting. For me.
