…And if I could say the words, I would say that I love you, Momma.

I love how you can read me when no one can, and how you meet my simple needs. And how you hold my hand. And your beautiful face.

Remember how we listened together to that worship song and wind up smiling so big because we saw Him love on us?

You are such a good Momma to me.

I love what we are a team, you and I. I love that sweet connection between our spirits, the  meeting of the eyes, the understanding in the belly. I love that you get me, and you fight for me, and you always seek my good.

Even when nobody understands why you do certain things.

You are such a good Momma to me.

Remember, Momma, how we could giggle over nothing, and be in the moment together? Remember the beach, Momma? And going to the dentist?

I’m not afraid at all. Because my God, He has walked with me every step of the way. And my God, He has taught me to trust with all there is in me. Even when I can’t see. And when my feet can’t touch. Because my God, He has never let me down. So the page might be turning, but the story is still being written and my God, He gets all the glory.

You are such a good Momma to me.

I choose life.
