Tender

Tender is my husband pulling a blanket over me at night when I sit in my recliner;

Tender is placing my hand on her trembling shoulder without saying a word;

hand on shoulder

Tender is the way God shows up time and time again;

Tender is… what happens when we begin to understand that others are just as human as we are, with hearts that can break just as easily as ours.

When all else is stripped away, tender is understanding.

  1. Just lovely, Barbara! Tender moments that give meaning to our life.
    It is funny that just before I opened your post, I was thinking of my mom. She is slowing down lately. She turned 95 last month. Sometimes I forget she is this old and I should make every moment count, but with so many others depending on me, I forget.
    Thanks for reminding!
    Going down to be with her.
    Blessings to you!

  2. Barbara…This is a good reminder that we are called to be tenderhearted. (Ephesians 9) Not only are we called but the affects of being tenderhearted honor God and love the one receiving. Thank you for sharing at Monday’s Musings. 🙂
