It’s a beautiful West Virginia morning and creation explodes with splendor.
I sit quietly on the deck, enveloped by nature, a mug of hot coffee in my hands.
A squirrel jumps from tree to tree, and the crows seem to be owning the place. In the distance, a woodpecker is pecking away. It feels as though God’s breathtaking handiwork lives full out, unrestrained.
The sun gloriously shares its rays. Beauty fill every ounce of space.
I make myself small, in awe of the privilege of this moment.
“Thank you God,” I whisper.
And then, the leaves flutter and a soft breeze touches my face. I close my eyes and let it gently caress my cheek.
“I love you,” I hear Him say.
I’ve just been kissed by the Lover of my soul.
