Life taught you that you better play small.
Better not make waves, you know.
Better stay in the shadow.
Because in the shadow, there is less of a chance to be challenged. To bleed to death.
Keep your eyes trained on the ground.
Because when your eyes are down, there is less of a chance to be noticed. To wind up having to stand up for what is right. To have to sacrifice.
Keep your mouth shut.
Because words, they have wings. And they will most certainly be misunderstood. And they could cost you your comfort.
Let the dreaming stop.
But the truth is,
It’s not safe to play small when God deposits big inside of you.
Because small doesn’t fit.
And it’s dangerous to keep your eyes trained on the ground; you’ll stumble if you don’t for lack of vision.
And you’ll suffocate if you keep your mouth shut. Because words are like breaths. They keep you alive, and they create your destiny.
And the truth is,
Dreaming is the safest thing to do.
